Event Wrap Up – Estonian e-Governance Conference 2022

I’ve just spent two days working at the Estonian e-Governance Conference 2022 at Kultuurikatel in Tallinn. At this years event I was hosting a series of short interviews with speakers and partners, which were being played during the breaks on the main stage.

The interviews were pre-recorded but the video team turned them around in a matter of minutes so they could be used immediately on the day. We completed about 9 interviews on each day, ranging from 3 to 5 minutes and they were done in quick succession as we moved around the conference floor.

I was provided with the shooting schedule and background questions before the event so I could familiarize myself with the topics. I have hosted the e-Governance conference in previous years and also worked on the Estonian X-Road system back when I was a software developer, so my domain knowledge really helped me here prepare for almost 20 different short interviews in quick succession.

I enjoyed the event as I had to quickly build a rapport with each interviewee. The event was organized by Confent agency whom I have done many events with in the past and this long standing relationship makes a huge difference: they know how I work and I know what they require of me.

Also I as happy to catch the opening of the event and see the President of Estonia, Alar Karis speak. I haven’t seen him talk at an event before (I was fortunate enough to work with his predecessor, Kersti Kaljulaid) and I am glad to say he has good delivery and speaks English very well.
